MEET THE CHEF
Janice Brooks is owner and Executive Chef of “AT THE TABLE” Fine Dining located in the heart of downtown Asbury Park, New Jersey; 311 Bond Street. Janice learned how to cook from her Mother and Grandmother. Since helping in the kitchen at such a young age, cooking became one of her passions. Cooking for family and friends is a joy for her, as well as watching them enjoy the food she cooked. This was the start of something new; something that was on the inside of her that seemed to bring out her purpose in life. Others have said, Janice has what it takes to bring everyone together to sit and eat “At The Table” and it would always be overflowing with a variety of food and desserts. After discovering her purpose in life, Janice enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at Brookdale Community College and received her Associates Degree in 2006. Soon after graduation, the demand for her blessed and highly favored dishes was on the rise. The word spread throughout the community and Janice began catering for various church events, weddings, birthday celebrations and of course, family and friends were still fortunate to come over to her home and sit “At The Table.” Prior to opening her own establishment, Janice was employed by Delta’s in New Brunswick, NJ and by Clara’s Place in Neptune, NJ.
